Aw, thanks a lot! I just put up a new song last night called, "Soft Water" that I'm really stoked on. You should check it out if you'd like and let me know what you think!

hello again!
it took me a while to find/register to the new board. awesome to see it being up again.
about plugging shit:

there used to be a thread about putting out a record in one month (in february i believe) - well.. for silly reasons i decided to record a record each month of the year 2009. so, three records are already finished. i don't know about the first two, but i could imagine this new one being similar to the music taste of some people here. there's definitly a mount eerie influence. but also some smog. my record is called "blood red bird" for a reason. :)
you can have a listen here: http://wixel.tumblr.com/post/89999654/wixel-march-record-is-ready
or listen to all three records here: http://2009.bandcamp.com

for further diy purposes: for the cd copies i used stumptown printers 4panel blanks. i cut stamps out of pencil erasers and try to make something "pretty". cheap white cd-rs and homemade prints on thick drawing paper.

so.. i plugged my shit. i hope the smell isnt too bad. :)

Hey wim, I'm listening now and I'm REALLY digging this.
I'd like to buy one but I'm broke until I get paid like 2 weeks from now. :(

Seriously ambitious project. Nice work.

There were at least 3 separate sites that organized February album-writing months. Sort of a weird coincidence. Some friends of mine set up this one: www.makeanalbum.org which provided a few really great albums.

I just listened to some of your stuff wim, it's really impressive, especially considering how quickly you're popping these suckers out. I really like the way your covers look too with the eraser stamps...what do you guys use to cut your stamps?

Time for me to plug some more of my shit...since middle school I've been making jokey music as just a way to have fun and entertain my friends and stuff, but by accident over the years I've sort of started to learn how to actually make and record songs. Last year I decided I was tired of just making jokes and wanted to try to make an album of actual music that could be taken at least a little bit seriously, and a little bit over a year later here it is. It's clumsy and sloppy and far from perfection but it's almost exactly what I'd hoped it would turn out to be and I'm super proud of it.
I'm also making about 50 copies of it (the cover art is taken from one of them) that I'll be selling (I would give them away if I could, but I had to put in the money to get the cases, cd-rs, etc.) but here are the mp3s and stuff for free:

here's my old band: hardcore punk with screamed vocals, might not exactly be everyone on this board's cup of tea, but here it is anyway:

CD copies of Squanto's Go Go Gadget Grass Stains are pretty much done and ready for purchase...it took me a bit longer than I expected. They're $5 if anyone's interested plus I guess a dollar or two for shipping if you want to mail order one. There's 50 copies, some are decorated with pictures from coloring books, some with watercolors, and a few with stamps and simple line drawings. The CD is still up for free download a bit further up the page, enjoy!

here are some of the cases: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/6107/squanto011.jpg

oh - i just found this lovely thread and listened to some of your music. right now i am amazed by the stuff that wim did. and the project making a record every month is extremly fascinating.

if someone of you might have a second, i'd like to invite you to my music as well. it is basically sad folky music without being that much folky somehow. (sound weird? yeah, it does.) so let's say it is sad music, played with acoustic guitar(s). anyway, would be nice if some of you guys might find the time to check: http://www.myspace.com/hlynurgudjonsson

p.s. i recommend the top 4 songs. they are from my recent tour ep, i prefer the sound of the recording over the older ones. it is very lofi, not done to much "production" with them.
