Anyone else a fan? I saw them last night in NYC at the Miller Theatre at Columbia University and it was easily the most entertained I've been in a long long time. My dad came with me and he loved it too. They've kept quiet over the past few years but mostly because they just decided to take a break to spend time with their families and stuff like that, but about half the set they played was new material, and they said they're working on an album right now and hope to have it out by the end of the year. So there's just some good news I thought I might pass along. The new stuff was really good, not too much of a departure from their usual style but a bit more beat-heavy and a bit darker too.

That's excellent news.
I saw them once and it was one of the best shows I've ever seen.
Is the new stuff as centred around vocals as Lost and Safe? I know that they got a good bit of criticism about going in that direction but Lost and Safe is probably my favorite album of theirs.

It's actually mostly samples based from what I can remember...I was actually kind of disappointed with that because I love Lost and Safe too, Smells like Content (which they played!) is probably my favorite Books song. The new stuff still sounds great though. It sounds like The Books but still not quite like anything else they've done so far. here's one of my favorites of the new ones they did, the quality isn't great but you can hear it alright: www.youtube.com/watch?v=AjKpwMQbWz8&fmt=18

Lost and Safe is my favourite also. I hope they play over here at some stage soon.
