Obviously there hasn't been much activity on the boards lately but it seems worth talking about the fact that this summer Phil "re-polished and re-released" No Flashlight for the album's 10th anniversary. Also, apparently he made 6 copies on cool colored vinyl and just auctioned off half of them on ebay.

Damn, those one-offs look amazing! Did anyone here happen to score a copy? Bummed to have missed out but also kind of relieved knowing I don't have that type of money to spend on a record right now, if they'd gone for around cost price I'd be kicking myself.

I won the auction for the one that went for the least amount of money. Really happy about that.

I'm new here so i'm not sure if i'm necroing or not, but I got a vinyl copy of it. The howling at the beginning of 'The Moan" changed, but from what I can tell not much else has. It's a gorgeous print though.

Here's what my copy looks like for anyone curious. It's called "aurora blood".

I am considering buying this in vinyl for the first time. I read somewhere that the original pressing had a lot of texts and explanations about the songs in the packaging, is it the same in the reissue?
Which version would you recommend?

Hi myker: That doesn't seem to be the case with the reissue. My copy doesn't have any real liner notes, minus an explanation of the reissue (recording location of original, stuff like that). That said, i've not seen an original pressing, so i'm not sure what was inside it. If you can get original, I guess go with that. The reissue is going to be much easier to get. Still a fantastic album though, and my favorite of Phil's discography because of how quiet and intimate it is. I play it when I go camping a lot.

I managed to find a copy of the original issue, and it's really incredible, one of the most thought-provoking stuff I have been exposed to, artistically speaking. The music is fantastic too, obviously, one of Phil's most essential records I'd say.
