saw them last night here in salt lake city and it was EPIC. two drummers, two keyboards and Phil on guitar...super heavy.
quite a bit different from when i saw him last year when it was just Phil, his guitar and a smoke machine.

Anyone going to the Philly show at First Unitarian on the 25th: my band, New Wives are playing the Terrordome (my friend's house) on the 24th, the night before Mount Eerie. We're coming up from Baltimore to play the show and then going to Phil's show the next day, so if anyone wants to come hang out and make some friends, that'd be really nice. If so, drop me a line! There's more information here - www.myspace.com/NewWivesAlso, I'm extremely excited for the show. I've come to terms with him only playing Wind's Poem material this tour and it should be great! hah

At the Denver show, I talked to the guy who made the bootleg tapes--he also made 3 different patches and a mini-penant. They were being sold at the merch table, right next to Phil's stuff. The patches are really cool; the text is all letterpressed and the pine cone image is a linocut. The tapes were all sold out, but I think he said he's making more. Here's the patches and mini-penant. The pine cone says "murder". Also, some guy made a bunch of really, really nice posters for the show (Denver specific). It was a bunch of black triangle-tree shapes with a superimposed raven and it said "Mount Eerie" in glow-in-the dark Wind's Poem font. I didn't feel like buying it though. The show was really good, even though I had to leave halfway into Mount Eerie's set to catch the last bus . No Kids was fun too. Someone taped a tape recorder to the ceiling, so maybe it got recorded?

whatever, I like them because they are so ridiculous. So there were bootleg tapes? What did they have on them? Why were they even being sold there? The tapes were all sold out, so I don't know. But obviously Phil was aware and accepting of them, because the guy was touring with them (sorry I wish I asked his name).

Ugh. Why do bands always skip Michigan? Is it cause were a peninsula?

how did that whole band fit into the tiny rihnoceropolis stage room. (used to live in denver) it was pretty tight, especially with the two gongs. the audience was packed in, too.
