Not to add fuel to the fire, but it seems that Phil is just as bummed as we are about no more Thanksgiving
Oh and Wind's Poem is still very much awesome

Not to add fuel to the fire, but it seems that Phil is just as bummed as we are about no more Thanksgiving what makes you say that? anyway, wind's poem IS fucking amazing. "summons" (and actually the whole album) is so poetically beautiful. it should go without saying, but he really nailed the "poem" aspect of wind's poem. i feel stupid for even saying that, because it's obvious, but it's fucking brilliant.

I really like the White Stag melody getting the full treatment on The Hidden Stone

I'm probably reading too much into to it but in the pitchfork interview he said, "That year, I also met my friend Adrian who plays music under the name Thanksgiving-- or he used to." Just sounded sad. I sound sad when I talk about Thanksgiving in the past tense. But who knows, if phil could pull off a black metal album than adrian can pull off a trippy electronic album...there are some really great tracks on zone out.

Adrian's electronic stuff is really interesting to me, I just wish he'd make an album

am i the only one that isn't blown away by wind's poem? I haven't got the record yet so i haven't seen the artwork and that stuff but it's just like - everyone's shot there load on this one - and i don't know. i'll keep listening to it but no flashlights is hands down superior.

i think you might be...
no one has really compared this to anything else he's done yet.
as for my two cents -- there is no comparison. it's so artistically/stylistically different (yet similar?) to other albums, that it's difficult, if not impossible, to accurately compare them.
his aesthetic has completely changed too. he seems to have matured away from making things sound fucked up (in a good way), and is moving toward making stuff really "nice" and "professional"-looking.
i dunno. i love it all.

everyone's shot there load on this one i wouldn't want to ruin the gate-fold. I think Winds Poem is great, I wouldn't say im a huge fan of No Flashlight it never really meshed with me, I like the songs individually but anyways. Winds Poem does that thing that Glow Pt. 2 did so well, take two contradictory sounds and mash um up. On Winds Poem its the synths and the screaming guitars (on Glow it was acoustic and noise). The production is nice and epic, i like that you gotta turn it up real loud to get the full experience. Plus the songs are catchy as fuck, sometimes its not as apparent on Winds Poem because of the production, but listening to the live versions where they're a bit rawer usually gets them stuck in my head.

I wouldn't say I'm blown away either. I know it's a great album and it's epic as hell, but I'm still not really sure where I'd place it in my favorites. Then again, I find parts of No Flashlight kinda boring too. I dunno...
