Anybody know of anywhere in the UK or Europe which might be distributing this? likely boomkat, as they've sold a number of his other LPs.

Boomkat have FLAC and MP3 versions, but not the 2xLP unfortunately. I guess I'll just save up and buy it from Phil.
Everyone should get a copy of the new Ô PAON record too, it is excellent!

My copy arrived a couple weeks ago. It's a really nice package, well worth $21. Looks exactly like what you see on the Phil Elverum & Sun site. Some nice photo's within the gatefold of mounds and piles, uh i guess thats how you'd describe it. The vinyl sounds incredible, as usual. Really great lyrics booklet, and cover was painted by Kyle Field on what looks like an old beer case? Just buy it...

this review is hilarious.
the idea of song islands is to present songs that didn't fit elsewhere.
the review just complains about the lack of solidarity/fluidity. no wai!
also, the pitchfork number is arbitrary, from what i'm told.
i try to use this:
>8 = probably worth listening to, because you'll have to defend yourself (either way) over some vegan food bar in a basement, eventually. 2-8 = might be your bag, yo. <2 = not worth listening to. they've been spot on for shitty records, according to my bag, yo.

Pitchfork is bleh. I read it when I was like 16, but soon came to realize: they listen to music in an entirely different way. They don't look at an album as a sole, separate work; they compare it to everything and hold to it to standards. Usually that results in a skewed, unbalanced perception of an album. Bleh. PLUS, for me, it seems they have gone from "let's review good music" to "let's review the newest and strangest bands, and thrust them into popularity by being the first to whore all over them...regardless if the bands are genuinely terrible and not about music."
Yep.

^ This is true
My only reservations about Song Islands 2 is that there are tracks like Cold Mountain’s Song #286, Do Not Be Afraid, Where Is My Tarp? which even the most casual Elverum fan probably already has in their collection.

Cold Mountain’s Song #286, Do Not Be Afraid, Where Is My Tarp? which even the most casual Elverum fan probably already has in their collection. you have that Australian Tour Ep? Lucky you! I wrote Phil a while back asking if he has plans on releasing 7 new songs on vinyl here's what he replied: Hello Bram, It is unlikely I'll release 7 new songs on vinyl ever, but probably eventually Mount Eerie will be reissued. No immediate plans tough. Phil Oh yes, I'm totally ready for solar system on vinyl !
