Sounds like we've got another set of Microphones reissues on the way! I suppose I should start saving for this now... Phil Elverum Says He’s Making a Microphones Vinyl Box Set"Elverum told host (and Pitchfork contributor) Elia Einhorn that he has spent the past year putting the release together and 'waiting on pressing plants.' The set will include every album by the Microphones, freshly pressed to vinyl, along with a book and a 'crazy download of like 70 gigabytes of everything, all the embarrassing, mortifying material,' as Elverum put it. The release will also include stems of the songs. Elverum says it will be finished in January, but has not yet announced a release date."

Exciting news! Hoping the early tapes, 7”s and releases like Blood and Little Bird are included in some way or another.
Edit: physically that is!

I think at this point my move will be to withhold, grab the book and splurge at the merch table if any boxes make it in time for the tour.

It will be available from a few European stores if you don't mind importing it.

I guess the past few releases have raised Phil's profile somewhat, but it seems wild to sell 1,000 of those. I ordered the book and asked The Business or whoever packs if I could just buy the box, but they never responded.

I just saw that it would be a limited one-time pressing but no mention of number. Not that it matters very much, but just curious.

I asked The Business directly about it, and there were 1000 total boxes but they overprinted the book.

Exciting news! Hoping the early tapes, 7”s and releases like Blood and Little Bird are included in some way or another. Edit: physically that is! No luck... Next boxset maybe I have to say that I was wondering where this or that song/release was, and then realised that it was actually a 'Mount Eerie' release... towards the end of Microphones/Mt Eerie the distinction became quite arbitrary, and even Phil admitted it in any number of interviews, that it was basically still him, his project (with assorted additional musicians), all along, and the changed name didn't matter that much (and instead just gave him headaches having to answer the question in interviews). Leading to the ridiculous Pitchfork coverage recently saying that 'The Microphones have reformed' for a new tour...

I'd love to have a boxset or download of everything Phil did between the Norwegian cabin and up to, say, White Stag. That's my favorite era and I'd love to hear more, especially anything that might have been recorded around 7 New Songs.
