So, we've managed to transfer a ton of info over to the 'Get Off the Internet Society'. getofftheinternet.wetpaint.com/I wanted to gather everyone's opinion on the space. I think the boards here have picked up a bit and activity will continue to grow with the release of Wind's Poem. Should we keep this space as is? Remodel it? Change to another service with less ads and greater ability to remodel? Let's figure out the best strategy for a Microphones/Mount Eerie archive....

So, here's my two cents... I think a remodel is in order but this space doesn't allow for very much wiggle room. We need to find a wiki that allows for greater control over design. Also, the ads are really aggravating... And I think we should rename it to Mount Eerie Preservation Society to maintain consistency with with boards. We can even implement graphics from the previous site.... just thoughts... edit: I vote here: mounteerie.wikidot.com/I just registered it and it looks like we could have an incredible amount of control there....

i think most importantly, we need a simple short url. nothing cute (ie: i want wind to blow) but something creative....like "eeriesite" or something. maybe even an TLD hack like "microphones.mt" or something...just as a guess.
i am furious that the preservation society site is gone. I went there for all my lyric and discography needs, and i want to replicate that as much as possible. or something like this rob crow fan site:
All his bands, collaborations and side-projects are listed. While THIS discog isnt 150%, we can produce an actual site. Maybe even a blog.
With all due respect, I found the new site difficult and rebuilding what we lost is a real shame. I never noticed an insane amount of spam and i wish we could have kept the old boards. had tons of good and helpful info there.

well the goal would be to polish it as best as we all can.... that would mean transferring all the info over and having creative control. the wikidot site allows for complete css design schemes, something i'm not 100% up on. i'll begin tinkering and we'll see what happens... its success just depends on all of us having a helping hand... ...and i'm not sure about hosting the forum. it's current forum design looks very much like the wetpaint site... not the best. i'd say we keep this space for now and then mull some shift (if necessary) in the future.... let's continue the conversation! so, here's the link: mounteerie.wikidot.com/

I have to say that I already like the look of the Wikidot one. It's simple, yet refreshing.

Let's just keep this place! It's nice. Can't keep rebuilding.
