I could have sworn this was on archive.org but I cannot find it anywhere. Phil is playing all the songs on casiotone and acting like he is a club DJ, randomly yelling things like "YEEEAH MOUNT EERIE 2-K-5!" It was awesome and hilarious. Does anyone have a link to this? Thanks

I had this on my mp3 player a few years ago. I'm sure it was on archive.org too. Phil is playing the backing tracks on an mp3 player and sort of joking about. I'm going to keep scouring archive.org
P.S. if anyone has any live Thanksgiving bootlegs then plz plz plz get in touch.

wow, perfect - after all these years, 11 Old Songs has pretty solidly become locked as my favorite of his, so this is a great find

well, that was an interesting listen, ha. Going through lots of the live recordings, it's interesting how about half of the shows Phil seems more willing to perform more emotionally / share a moment with the audience, and about half he's in some kind of manic space where he seems to be intentionally trying to interrupt his own songs / be vaguely antagonistic with himself and by extension the audience. I'm lucky in that most of the shows I've seen in person have been in the former category, although some in the latter category have led to interesting / unexpected results. Maybe it's better to have the mixture of both; at least it's certainly more honest to be honest with the audience rather than to mime an emotion that's not there.
Anyway, even if it's not what he says with his mouth, I'm glad he still hasn't stopped singing.
